Konjunktiv II: Modal Verbs

With the Konjunktiv II we leave the real world and devote ourselves to the unreal world. The unreal world is the realm of fantasies, imaginations, wishes, dreams, unreal conditions and comparisons, but also of politeness. These imagined, assumed or possible facts, which are not real and do not exist, are formed with the Konjunktiv II. One example could be, "I would be on time more often if I had a watch."
